Auctioning is an approach which is now commonly accepted, and most importantly, understood, throughout a wide spectrum of companies and individuals. - E-procurement; where bidders and tenders are satisfied on either a reverse auction basis (where the lowest bidder satisfies a tender), or using a tender auction basis (where pricing may not be the only consideration in the buying decision). Some examples of these types of auction are: transport, energy and general procurement (for business supplies or raw materials). This approach may be used to garner procurement savings, typically between 7% - 30% (compared to normal procurement processes).

- Resource or work share; where resources from either an internal resource pool or as part of a flexible work force are “value optimised” using an auction approach.
