Grouped commodity bidding

In this approach the bidder creates a collection of lots and sets an overall value, which is bid against the lots, by proportion. This approach works only with sequential forward (English) auctions. I.e. if the bidder wins their first lot at a lower value than expected then the system will proportion a higher possible bid value to subsequent lots, or vice versa. In this way the bidder can enable the system to act on their behalf and silent bid within the remit of their business or buyer requirements.

Bidder collusion

It’s not really correct for this to be classified as a capability, since it requires custom development for each customer; it is tightly linked to the market place of the auction. Bidder collusion is the ability to spot if a number of bidders with an known buying pattern exhibits a variance to this approach, indicating that bidders are colluding in the background to reduce the agreed value by not bidding on agreed lots. Typically we build this on high value, repeatable auctions, since this is where collusion is most likely to occur.
